 Matthew Barney,《Lupus》

Matthew Barney, a 1991 graduate of Yale University, began working in installation, painting, photography, performance, film and video in 1994. He uses as many materials as possible, including bronze, film, plastic, resin and wax, and works in a provocative manner that has led him to rapid success. Much of his early work utilized physical art forms, giving his body over to endurance training, demonstrating his control and dominance of the body.

In that series, I have been trying to establish a way to prevent the act of painting, or to make the painting form a system under constraints. The system starts where there is a sexual difference, called a "position", where the active and passive innate structures that control movement can be called "conditions", and finally "production" is the output through the connection of two outlets to form a circulatory system.
